With 16 employees, GSM Products' in-house resources are limited and there is only one person and a part-time member of staff who handle all the company's administrative duties.
Bibby Consulting & Support has helped the company to register with the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). GSM has also worked closely with Bibby's online eRAMS system which simplifies the process of generating electronic risk assessments and method statements.
As well as helping GSM to make sure it is continually operating within the law on health and safety, Bibby's consultants have provided comprehensive advice and support on personnel issues and on environmental policies.
Gillian Stanley, Company Secretary of GSM Products, says: "With us being a small company with only limited staff, you can't have a hat for everything. We've not really got the people in-house to handle the amount of legislation that you have to deal with nowadays. I do wages as well as sales and purchases and I just can't manage it all.

Gillian adds: "You need more expertise now with all the red tape that's around. It's incredible what hoops we have to jump through but it's absolutely essential for us to continue operating. With the help of Bibby we can now prove to our customers and potential customers that we are health and safety conscious, environmentally conscious and look after our staff. And we can prove that we always operate within the law."
