mhl wins major contract with Poundland Limited
mhl support, one of the UK's fastest-growing companies, has won a major contract to provide HR support to West Midland discount chain Poundland.
Wendy Holmes, HR Manager at Willenhall-based Poundland, said "With more than 150 stores nationwide, Poundland employs a significant workforce of around 4,500. It is in our colleagues' interest as much as our own that we ensure we are on top of the changes in employment law legislation. mhl support audited our existing policies and procedures then made a number of recommendations and suggestions for improvement".
She said the support mhl was able to provide reassured the company that it had full indemnity cover for any tribunal costs or financial settlements that arose.
Poundland's HR department will be given support and advice regarding the implementation of policies and procedures, will receive training focused on keeping the team up to date with key legislative changes and will have access to a 24-hour support line.
Laurence Begley, mhl's Sales Director, said "Poundland is a major force within the retail sector and, with an operation of its size, it is important that the company stays one step ahead of ever-changing industry regulations.
"These can be quite complex so mhl support will provide managers with advice and support as these changes occur so that they can deal with them confidently and concentrate on achieving their own business objectives".
